DAMAGES AWARDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 19. Robert Davies, who sought £BOO damages from the Sir William. Ari'ol Company, Ltd., for injuries received to hw hand caused by an accident while noisting .steel bars with a. crane, was awarded £520 general damages and £SO special damages. An old, dilapidated wooden building containing two storeys, situated at the corner of Manse and High Streets, formerly known as the Occidental Hotel, but later occupied by Mann’s news agency, Wilson’s boot depot, the all night pharmacy. Ball’s marble bar. and Cameron’s boardinghouse. was partially gutted by fire early this morning. The building had long been recognised as a death trap, and it was fortunate that the board-ing-house had lieen vacated only yesterday morning.
