Foresters’ Ha, 11 was the rendezvous of nil: legionaries last evening, the occasion being a social! evening a.n<l smoke concert, rand the function was attended thy a 'large number of members from all parts of South Taranaki. The evening was spent with songs, musical items and stories. Lieut. S. E. Yeitoh presided and was ably assisted by Lieut. A. C. Piper. Apologies for absence were received from Frontiersnin Giray, Ford and Allen. Prior to commencing the sooial nominations were taken for delegates to represent M. Squadron at the conference of Legion of Frontiersmen at Wanganui next Saturday. The following were appointed: Limits. S. E. Veitch and A. O. Piper, and Sergt. Nielson. Those who contributed items to the excellent programme were: Messrs G. Hiardenberg, 13. Piper, Lauchlam, Smith, D. Strachan, FI. Briggs, W. Adams, A. C. Piper, M. Jones, Garclston and Baxter. The fai'lc/wing toasts were honoured : ‘The King” (Lieut. Veitch); “The Legion” (Lieut. Veitch —Sergt. Tennant): “O'hawe Troop” (Frontiersman Forsyth —Lieut. Piper) ; “Waverley Troop” (Sergt. Craig—Seirgt. Ned I son); “151thain Troop”. (Lieut. Piper); “New Members” (Frontiersman Stevens) : •‘Boy Scouts” ('Lieut. Veitch' —Scoutmaster Oowie) ; “First-Add Instructor ’ (Frontiersman.' Anderson —Mr Shaw) ; “GiKysts ami Entertainers” (Lieut. Piper—Mr Hardenbeng) ; “The Press.' The accompaniments were played by Messrs J. Craig and W. Barleyman.
