The PURPORT and OBJECT of such petition is to request the Council to make and levy by Special Order an annual recurring Separate Rate of onesixth of a pemtny in the pound upon all rateable property within that .portion o nly of the C ounty of Haw era /which is described in the Schedule to such Petition on the basis of the value of the buildings 'exclusive of the value of the sites, such rate being FC)R THE PURPOSE of providing fire protection 'within the said area by 'agreement with the Hawera Eire Board. JpUBLIC Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Rating Act, 1925,'’ and by “The Counties Act, 1920,” and amemidmeaxts thereto;, it is the intention of the Council of the County of Hawera at the Regular Meeting of the Council to be held at the County Chambers’, Princes Street, Hawera, on SATURDAY, JULY 7th, 1928, to make amdlevy the following General Rates on the basis of the Capital Value of all rateable property within the respective Ridings of the County as follows: — HAWERA RIDING (outlying district), lid in the £.

Such Rates 1 shall be for the period comimencing an Ist day of April, 1928, and ending an 31st day of March, 1929, and shall became due. and payable in one sum to the County Clerk and Treasurer at the County Office, Princes Street, How era, on the Bth day of August, 1928. Such Rate shall be subject to a penalty of 10 per cant, if mot paid within six months and fourteen days from dote of < lemamd.
