SUMMER TIME.
APPRECIATION OF MR, SIDEY’S SERVICES. SUGGESTION AS TO (METHOD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 19. At a recent meeting of the committee of the Summer Time Appreciation movement, it was reported that in Wellington more than five thousand persons had voluntarily subscribed to mark their approval of the act of last session. Numerous expressions of opinion were received as to the beneficial effect of the change, and it was decided to give Mr. Sidey every assistanc in his efforts next session to place the measure permanently on the Statute book. No definite decision was arrived at as to how Mr. Sidey’s services up to present should be recognised, but the most popular suggestion was that a medal .should be struck to be known as the T. K. Sidey Summer Time medal, to be awarded periodically together with a substantial monetary prize to a person who makes' the best contribution to our knowledge of light as it relates to human welfares. The fund still remains open.
