Three Eastern provinces ‘ for many 'yeairs peacefully governed by Chang Tsq Lin and virtually a Japanese colony are 'about to. ibe surrendered to the Nationalists. The latest report from the north states that the Manchurian war lords, icaljiisiiing that they are unable to hold ’out longer from, the Nationalists, are 'reported to have expressed their willingness to discuss terms. Peking and Tientsin are quiet. The change of regime was effected with a- minimum of 'disturbance. The Nationalists are pro’feeding to fill the administrative pose 'lions with their own officers, and these ’posts have 'been deserted by the Northerners for nearly a fortnight.
