The. Farmers’ Co-op. report haring had a very successful week of clearing sales. Good cows are in great demand, in several! instances these have realised as high as £2O. Besides the usual stock sales and cleaning sales, a huge volume of business Si'as been transacted in the paddock. Fat sheep. are making -Ms for ewes and £2 for prime wethers. Hwes in lamb t*> Southdown. ramis np to .87«, land 2, 4 and 6tli. ewes in lamb to Romney raiims have made np to £2 ss. Mat cows and heifers are making np to £ll. whilst prime bullocks are worth from £l2 to £l4, according to weight. Ait Mr Muldrocik’s clearing sale of about 70 cowisi and 700 sheep qn Tuesday last, cows isold exceptionally well and' sheep .were in great demand, a line of medium M.S. lamb® making 275, and mixed ages ewes 08s. At Mr H. Barr’s sale on Wednesday some 95 cows were offered, and these sold up to £2O per head, the average for the whole herd, indluidiinig several unsound cows, being £l2 6s 6d. implements and sundries sold very well. On Thursday at Mr P. Pratt’s sale, on 111? Hastings Rlniad, a very good herd of 57 Jersey cows was sold, the highest price being £l7 for several! cows, and the average over the lot, which included several three quarter cows, being just on £l2 per head. At all the company’s clearing sales there were large attendances and bidding was brisk, the various sales going through in record time.
