GROUP HERD TESTING.

SOUTH TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. EXCELLENT RESPONSE MADE. As a result- of meetings _ held nr many parts of the association’s area and ‘of personal canvass in various localities, the organising secrotary, Air. E. M. Bardsley, states that a verv 'Strong association will be formed. Speaking to a “Hawera Star representative, Mr. Bardsley said that the greatest interest in the movement had been shown in localities wherein the association had already operated, as in such localities the pontes tin dairymen had the experience of the" association’s members to prove to them that the group herd testing movement was liili that it was said to be the benefits derived 1 being very much worth while. Nevertheless new districts wore giving much support, and the testing officer will be known over a much wider area- than during the past- season. With many localities a-s yet not canvassed, it seems certain that the number of tested cows in the coming season will be, or very nearly, double that under test during the last season. In most districts where meetings were held two canvassing delegates were _ appointed, who will get into touch with all their neighbours and will report on the result of their canvass to the provincial executive within the course of the nevt week or two. The area to lie- covered by theSouth Taranaki Association is southward to Wanganui from a boundary in tlie north formed by the EltliamOounako Road. Should it so happen that anv dairymen within these limits wishes to test and has not been given the opnortunity of attending a meeting, full particulars will be forthcoming from Box 48.
