Members of the Hawera Male Choir speak very highly of the cordial welcome they received from the officials and committee of the Competitions Society at E'ltham. They consider these were easily the feature of the two days and _ the best they had seen for a long time. The judge (Mr. Taylor) is strongly opposed to solo singing -by school children, and stresses rather the need of school singing being choral. In regard to the Male Choir’s work, the conductor ancl members knew there would be no competition, but were anxious to get the criticism of the judge on their efforts.
