Sir Austen Chamberlain, en route to Geneva, interviewed M. Briand, the French Minister for Foreign Affairs, who subsequently announced that both were in agreement in regard to all problems in the ‘League’s agenda. They' had particularly examined the question of disarmament with a view to the discussion at the preparatory disarmament committee in July, also the anti-war pact negotiations, which M. Briand was convinced would soon lie happily concluded.
