The latest messages trom Peking istate that the Dictator, Chang Tso Lin, has requested Field Marshal Wang shi Chen, a lormer Premier and Minister of War, to arrange for the main--1 tenance of order a. ter his withdrawal, which is momentarily expected. A special train is reported to be ready for his immediate departure. Chang Tso Lin interviewed the Foreign Ministers and promised that peace, would be maintained in Peking. He expressed regret that he was abandoning the capital. Ministers thanked the Dictator for the peace and safety enjqyed during Chang’s tenure. The Powers’ representatives at Peking are co-operating in defence measures, and the troops of various .oreign garrisons are ready to take up stations at a minute’s notice. Foreign residents are preparing to take refuge in the Legations with their possessions if necessary. The announcement of the Dictator’s departure for Mukden is expected to be the signal for a general Nationalist advance on the city, says a Peking message.
