All Continental markets are easier owing to .heavy producing. Danish is quoted at 167s*; New Zealand choicest salted, 166 s to 168 s; Australian, 156 s to 158 s; umsalted, about 2s premium. Cheese is firm. New Zealand, 98s to 90s; Australian, 965. CLEARING SALE. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. Ltd. report having held a successful sale on Tuesday, on account of Mr E. P. C. Vaughan, Makirikiri. All the stock were yarded in good order, and bidding for sains was spirited from a large attendance of buyers. The following were some of the prices realised:—2, 4'and 6th ewes b.r.w. S.D. rams, 39s lOd; 4 and 5 year ewes b.r.w. S.D. rams, 345; aged ewes 29s Id; fab ewes, 275; small b.f. lambs, 17s Sd; .small w.f. lambs, 17 s 3d; 2tli Southdown rams, £5 ss; 2 year grade Jersey heaters (spring cal vers) £7JLOs; Jersey cows (spring ealvers), £7 os. All implements and sundries met with keen competition and a total clearance of same was effected. > , ENGLISH APPLE MARKET. LONDON, May 31. Victorian, South Australian and Tasmanianapples reshipped ex-London met with, an excellent demand at Antwerp and realised 15s, the top price being 21is 6d. Tlie prices include duty of about 3s 6d. Mr H. B. Stephens, of the New Zealand Fruit Control Board, visited Bristol, Cardiff, and Liverpool, where apples from Cambridge were selling at a keen demand. The prices ranged from 10s to 13s 3d. He also visited Glasgow, where 1400 ex-Cornwall were sold at- about threepence and sixpence more than other sales.
