DISTURBANCES AT CAPETOWN. INCIDENT IN ASSEMBLY. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN PRESS ASSOCIATION— Received 11.15 a.in. to-day. CAPETOWN, June 1. Disturbances arising out of Union Day continued in tile early morning and had a sequel in the Assembly, when an Opposition member asked the Prime Minister it lie did not think the cause was the refusal to fly tile Union Jack on Capetown Castle. The Speaker shouted “Order 1’’ Ministerialists cried “Shame! Scandalous! Racialist!’’ It was the last incident of the session. There were over one hundred arrests made during the disturbances. The ringleaders were sentenced to three months’ hard labour. Three times yesterday the national flag was cut down at Butterworth, on the border of Cape and native territory. The hoisting of the national flag otherwise passed off throughout the country with goodwill.
