In the second innings they made 215 (Bowley 9-1). Bettington took 6 for 78. Middlesex won bv 112 runs.

Worcestershire, in the first innings, made 21 I (Tarbox 55), and in the second innings 232. Nichols took 6 wickets for 64. Essex, in the first innings, made 436 for 9 wickets and declared (Cuttmore 61, O’Connor 82, Bussell 135 Douglas 68). Tarbox took 7 wickets for 114. In t-he second, innings they made 8 for no wickets. Essex won by ten wickets.

Lancashire, in the first innings, made 385 (Hallows 58. Taylor 66, Iddon S 7, Green 52). Rhodes took 4 wickets for 56. In the second innings they made 80 for one wicket. Yorkshire, in the first innings, made 473 (Holmes 79, Sutcliffe 140, Mitchell 74). Yorkshire won on the first innings. Nottinghamshire, in the first innings, made 457 (Gunn 122, Walker 51, Barrett 96, A Staples' 94). In the second innings' they made 50. Fender took 4 wickets for 21, Peach 6 for 24. Surrey. in the first innings, made* 28S (Hobbs 11 1) and in the second 220 for 3 wickets (Shepherd 68. Sandham for 3 wickets (Shepherd 68, Sandham not out 92). Surrey non by seven wickets. Glamorgan, in the first innings. made 323 (Hills 94, Bates 81, Mercer not'out 57). Following on, Glamorgan made 2-13 (Williams not out 53). Oxford won by 8 wickets.

Cambridge University, in the first innings. made 111. Constantine took 5 wickets for 35. In the second innings they made 155. In the first innings. West Indies made 2-57 (Fernandes 73. Neblett HI) and in the second 40 for one wicket. West Indies won bv 9 wickets.

For Derbyshire against Warwickshire Hutchinson made 111 and- Richardson 70 not out. For Warwick. Wyatt made 101, Santa 11 S-l. Smith 82, Kilner 65, Warwick won.

For Hampsirc against Gloucestershire Mead made 110 and Boyes took •I wickets for 51. For Gloucester B. Lyon made 79. Hammond took 5 wickets for 46 and Senfield 5 for 62 Gloucester won.

For Northamptonshire against Leicestershire, Jupp made 74. Thomas took 4 wickets for 61. For Leicester Dawson made 130 and Astill /# took 5 for 16.. Leicester won.
