Dr. Boyd, health officer, after an inquiry expresses the opinion that the report of many cases of sickness at Grey Lynn, suggested to be ptomaine poisoning, is a- form •of gastric influenza which is fairly prevalent in Auckland. ELECTION NAMES AT GISBORNE. GISBORNEi. Alay 22. Though it was generally expected that Air. D. AV. Coleman will represent Labour interests at the forthcoming elections for the Gisborne seat, the local representation committee,. following the formal course, is calling for nominations from the affiliated unions. The suggestion that Labour may select a candidate to challenge the Hon. K. S. AVilliams, Alinister,of Public AVorks, has aroused mild interest,, but the representation committee Is not committed to- this course as yet. Mr. AV. D. Lysnar has announced Jbat he is standing for Gisborne as an “independent, as on the former occasion.
