ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A FOREST RANGER CONVICTED OF INSOBRIETY. (by teleoraph—press association.) DANNEVIRKE, May 17. Before Mr. H. A. Young, S.M., Leslie Albot Urguhart, of Hastings, forest ranger, was convicted of having been in a state' of intoxication while in charge of a motor lorrv at Dannivirke. He was fined £lO and ordered to pay £4 expenses and hisi license was suspended until May 31st, 1929. The accused had been given a friendly warning by a constable to get some' one else to take' his lorry to a garage and stay in town for the night, but he did not do so. Subsequently, in the middle of the night the lorry capsized when the defendant was proceeding to the camp in the Ruahine Ranges. An application for the suppression of the name was declined, the Magistrate remarking that it was advisable for the Forestry Department to know something of the matter.-
