(From Our Own Correspondent.) PERSONAL. Mr. and Mrs. James Matthews are at present spending a holiday in Wellington. CITIZENS’ SCOUTS COMMITTEE. The usual monthly meeting of the Citizens’ Committee of the Patea Boy Scouts’ Association was held on Monday evening, Mr. P. S. Finlayson presiding over a good attendance of members. Rev. C. Aker was elected ai member of the committee. It ivas resolved that Messrs. E. F. Hemingway and W. V. Martin be appointed trustees of the Savings Bank account. The rally to he held at Hawera on June 4 was. the main topic before the meeting, and the following resolutions were made concerning it: That the scoutmaster and liis assistants he given as free a hand as possible when entering scouts for the a- arious com petition s. That as many scouts as possible should he encouraged to make the trip, and that the committee should pay half the fare, the bovs to paw riie other half. The scoutmaster (Mr. L. Clark) reported that attendance at parades had fallen ever since the usual night..had been changed from Monday to Wednesday. A \ T ery successful camp had been held at Easter on the property of Mr. A. Huston, of Kakaramea. It Avas decided by the committee to send a letter of appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Huston for their kindness. The cubmaster (Mr. A. Christensen) reported that the membership Ay as increasing and that the boys were becoming keener in their work. It Avas decided to hold the next church parade on Sunday, Mnv 20. Messrs. Aker and Waimvright were appointed a visiting committee for the month.
