Rufus Stewart, the Australian golfer, qualified in the Leeds tournament with 150 Thirty-two will compete in the match play. The leaders are: Davies (143), Gaudin, O. A. Whitcomb©, Williamson, Button (144). Others are: Gadd (146), Robson, Compston (143), Ockenden, Duncan (150). The failures included Mitchell, Havers, Herd Narsoitz (152), Melhorn (153), and Jurado (155). WOMEN ’ S CHAMP lON SHIP. LONDON, May 16. In the women’s golf championship, only one American, Mrs Hurd, survived the fifth round. Miss Wragg heat the American, hope Glenna Collett in the fourth round by 3-2, doy \ 'inn heat Miss Curtis _ 6-5, Molly Gounlay beat Mrs Healy 7-6. COACH IN HAWEBA. The committee of the Hawera Golf Club notifies that Mr John Lambic, the coach sent up by the Golf Council, as now in Hawera. at the White Hart Hotel, where members of both ladies and men’s clubs may make arrangements for lessons. Mr Lambie will be here until Monday, May 28.
