(From our own correspondent). ENJOYABLE CONCERT. Owing to the stormy weather only a fair attendance was present at the theatre last evening to hear the concert organised by Mrs Edmonds and given by the Goodson concert party of Hawera. All the items were greatly appreciated and encores were the order of the evening. The following items were given:— Pianoforte duet,- played by Misses 1). Joll and E. Goodson; quartette, “Deny 45 Vale,” by Misses E. K. M. and P. Goodson; songs by Mr J. McQuin; recitation, “Cats’ Tea Party, by Master G. Goodson; duet, “Snowdrops, ” by Misses E. and K. Goodson; musical monologue and song by Mr C. J. McFadyen; songs, “Hush My Little One’ and “Gipsy Maiden,” by Mrs |M. J. Goodson ; instrumental trio (Miss E. Goodson A. ITnincke and K. Goodson), “Chanson Triste” and “Waltz”; piano •solo “Waltz in A Flat” and “Waltz in E Minor,” by Mrs E. Goodson; song, “Fairies’ Umbrellas,” by Miss A. Goodson; song, “By the Waters of Minnetonka,” by Miss E. Goodson, •also violin obligato by Miss Umacke. The final item was a chorus “Good Night.” The accompanists were Misses D. .101 l and E. Goodson. GENERAL. A large crowd gathered in town on Wednesday afternoon xo witness the oothnl! match and were disappointed at Hawera l.eing unable to muster a team.
