At the, annual provincial conference of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at Hawera to-day, it, was resolved to most cordially recommend that Mr. F. Mills, of Tokaora, lie, appointed a Dominion life member, members agreeing Lis past services warranted- this honour being conferred- long ago. The recent death of Mr. B. L. Webby, of Riv’erlea, a former president of the Riverlea branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union for several years, was reported at the annual Farmers’ Union ’ Conference to-day. A vote- of condolence- with Lis relatives was carried, members standing out of respect to his memory. At the annual conference- for South Taranaki of the New Zealand l Farmers’ Union to-day, a motion of sympathy was expressed with Mr. W. E. Carter, president of the. Mangatoki branch. in his illness, which prevented his- attendance at the conference. The hope was expressed that he would* soon he restored to perfect health,
