ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WAIROA, May 17. The inquest concerning the death of J. F. Simpson, an engineering cadet of tfce Public Works Department at Wai k a rem o ana hydro-electric works, was held to-day. The jury returned a verdict that deceased, was accidentally shot, hut that no blame was attachable to his fellow-clerk, K. Gillstrom, who accidentally fired the revolver, which was similar to one previously unloaded and cleaned l by him. KILLED BY A SLIP. INVERCARGILL, May 17. A slip occurred on the Ohai railway works this morning, resulting in two men being thrown heavily against a box. One, J, Henry, aged 18, of Nightcaps, died from a fractured skull, and the other, Lawrence Feilding, sustained a broken collarbone and chest injuries.
