NEW PRAYER BOOK.
BEFORE ECCLESIASTICAL COMMITTEE. CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS NOT AFFECTED. (AUSTRALIAN PRESS ASSOCIATION(UNITED SERVICE.) Received May 17, 10.55 a.m LONDON, May 16. The ecclesiastical committee, representing the Houses of Lords and the Commons, by 20 to' 3 votes decided that the Prayer Book did not prejudicially affect constitutional rights, therefore it should be proceeded with. The committee’s report must now be considered by the legislative committee oi the Church Assembly before the measure can be presented to Parliament, which is not likely before the end of June.
