SHEEPSKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALES. Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Wellington, report as under:— At our fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides, tallow and sundries held on Friday, we submitted a good average catalogue of all classes to a full attendance of exporters, tanners, fellmongers and the local trade. Sheep skins. —O it r ca t a log ue oomprised a nice selection of all grades and we found prices generally id to id per lb lower than late rates.* Inferior, seedy and damaged lots were id per lt» lower. Salted skins sold at rates slightly easier than previous quotations. Hides. — Wo again offered some very nice parcels of abattoirs and butchers' hides, competition being fairly keen at slightly reduced, rates. Wo quote heavyweights par, medium and lightweights, jd to LI lower. Yearlings were lower by L-Sd to id inn- lb, while kip declined |d to Id per lb. Calfskins eame in for particular attention and sold well up to late rates. For a nils' line averaging dibs, we secured 17 LSd per lb and for -I jib average Hid.
