CAPETOWN, May 16. The hoisting of the new flag on May 31, UnionDDa r , is giving. an occasion, for unpleasant episodes in country towns, in which arrangements are being undertaken by the local.. Nationalists, who have invited extreme Nationalists to speak. The -Mayors of Paarl and, Graaffreinet refuse to participate. The Governor-General hoists the flag at Parliament Buildings and Cabinet Ministers will perform the ceremony in Pretoria and in other principal centres. There is a suspicion that the Union flag will be hoisted on the principal pole, which will rouse animosity.
