McMurray, a former Solicitor-Gen-eral, luad! neceived 100 dollars for immi-C-ration permits. Air Fork© told him definitely that Mr McMurray obtained permits in large numbers and got enough, to pay for his election expenses., "Witness mentioned another case in which be did not know the name. The statement lias caused a sensation, and be lias been summoned to Ottawa as a result of his speeches during the election campaign, charging members of Parliament with accepting money for permits. These were special privilege permits, which allowed -members to recommend the entry of persons not coming within the immigration regulations. CHARGES UTTERLY FALSE. MR. McMURRAY’S REPLY. WINNIPEG. May 15. In an interview, Mr McMurray characterised Mr Cold well V abatement as utterly false. Hie never received -a single penny. If witness or others repeated the statements where there was no protection lie would seek redress m the proper way.
