Lord Terrington ? s liabilities are- estimated at £400,000 and his assets at £OOOO.
The £OO,OOO which accused is charged with misappropriating belonged Co his clients, Sir Harold Reekitt, Air H. R. Wakefield, and .Mrs Molyncux. iMr Eustfice Fulton prosecuted and Mr Harold .Simmons defended.
Mr Fulton outlined the transactions in the course of which Lord Terrington had sold without authority, either to defray mortgages or for the credit of his own account, Sir Harold Reekie, t’s shares in Reekitt and Company. Sir Harold had instructed him to sell ether shares to reduce two overdrafts, and Terrington had converted £5450 to his own use.
Lady Nunburnholmo lent him £9OOO, which he had paid into court after she had issued a writ’ for its recovery. Lord Terrington repaid Lady Nunburnholme £9OOO with the proceeds of a further sale of Sir Harold Reekitt's shares.
Of Lord Terrington’s liabilities, estimated at £400,000, Sir Harold Reekitt filed proofs that £213,000 was owing to him. Mr Simmons applied for bail, i:of. only on the grounds of .Lord Terrington *s health. but also on the grounds that it would be impossible for accused to give attention to tne complicated details of the case unless he wore set free, and access granted him to documents to enable the preparation el hig defence. Hail was refused, the Court allowing Lord Terrington 'a counsel full access to all papers.
Accused sat at (he side of the Court taking voluminous notes.
