The Berli li correspondent of the “Daily Express” states that an 11.800 tons warship, without a soul aboard, will leave Wilhelmstras.se on Monday on a trial trip in the North Sea. She is the ex-liner Zaehringen, which will be steered by wireless from a torpedo destroyer following several miles astern.
The Zaehringen is expected to be tinder perfect control. She will zig-zag occasionally as it under enemy gunfire. Artillery experts of the German Navy will thus have a, moving target. All openings in the deck will, be closed. There will be u c > portholes or conningtower. She is said to he unsinkable under the heaviest fire, as* every eg cant space, inside the hull is filled with. cork. The. engines burn oil and are constructed to run automatically for hours on end.
