CONSTRUCTION PROG RE3S REPORT. |BV TKt.EGK'.PH— PRISBB AS/SO -11 AT > s'* I WELLINGTON, May 14. The Main Highways Board provides the following details from its engineer’s progress report submitted at last meeting: Strat f o r d-T a u m aru n u i.—Paparata tc county boundary: The formation oj the Tokirima Road has been completed and 60 chains of base- course grave] laid. Oliura. County Boundary -Kururau Road Bridge.—Twenty chains of formation and 200 ft. of culverting have ben completed. Auckland-Wellington, via Taranaki. —Mahoenui-Mokau : Seventy-six lineal feet of concrete pipes have been placed and two groynes constructed. Mokau-Puteeairuhe. —Two new culvert® -have been placed and three old culverts lengthened. Mokau River Bridge.—All work ir. connection with the erection of this bridge- has 1 been completed. ’ ~ Waiau Stream Bridge.—A start has been made with the construction of this bridge. Wanganui County.—A length of 80 chains from the top of the Wangaehu Hill back towards Wanganui has been surfaced with bitumen to a- width of 18ft.
Turakina. Bridge.—A contract for the erection of this is tee 1 and concrete bridge -has been let.
