CHILDREN’S BALL.
COMING- FUNCTION AT MANAIA. The children of the Manaia district are eagerly looking forward to Friday, May 25. On this evening the children’s fancy dress ball will be held in the Manaia Town Hall, under the auspices of the Waimate Horticultural Society. For several years this event has proved very popular, but judging from the interest and enthusiasm of the little ones, this year’s ball is going to eclipse them. Practises are being held weekly, and these are being well attended. The final ones will be held on Friday next and the fallowing Wednesday. Prizes will be offered for the best costumes in classes under five years of age, from five to ten, and from ten to sixteen. Tl ic ladies’ committee has arrangements well in hand to provide a sumptuous supper, and it is expected that there will be a big attendance of both hilclren and adults.
