ATHLETIC AND FARM INTERESTS KAKARAMEA CLUB’S FIXTURE. Despite tli© unsettled weather conditions there was a good attendance at die -annual gathering of the Ka-ka-ra-mea Sports and Agricultural Association held in Airs. Lord’s paddock, near the factory to-day. The programme vas such as to- foster interest among all classes, combining as it did, sports >t all kinds with competitions which .vere of distinct value to the farming community. It thus linked up in a most satisfactory manner, all sides of the life of the community and brought die- people together in a manner thatmust always b© of distinct value to- the district.

The- general arrangements, under the direction of the enthusiastic president (Mr; F. S. Tarrant), the committee and Honorary secretary (Mr. C. P. Lord), were most satisfactory and ensured tliat everything went with a good swing throughout the day. There was a refreshment booth on the ground, and the- programme of band music was very interesting. The meeting will be- concluded by the popular dance- in the evening at the hall.
