Colonel Pow, the secretary, said. that two months ago he approached the branches in order to secure signatures to a petition to Parliament against the retention of daylight saving. flle had received a number of replies against the act and the petition would be presented. SEARCH FOR MISSING- NOTE. CHRISTCHURCH, Atay 3. A. strong protest has been made to the- “Christchurch Star” in connection with an incident at the Technical College yesterday, when- a- number of girls were subiected to search of their clothing bv the senior mistress’ and another teacher. The search took place in the cloak room, where a girl pupil -hnd.discovered that a £1 note was missing. Immediatelv it was reported l the doors of the room were shut, and the punils in it' were submitted to a. search of their clothing frotn head to foot. The note was not discovered.
