A meeting of the Cooks’ Union today decided not to return to work until'their demands have been granted. Received 10.20 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, May 4. Later details show that at the cooks’ meeting the Ulimaroa’s cooks announced they would not resume work unless extra men were provided in the galley, this decision receiving the endorsement of cooks employed on other Huddart Parker vessels. Mr. W. Appleton, chairman of the company, states that it will not attempt to recommission the idle vessels with non-union labour until Monclay or Tuesday.
