RAIN DELAYS PROCEEDINGS. W AIM ATE WIN HIKAKA CUP. The Oeo Sports Club’s annual meeting, under tne New Zealand A. and C. 11. rules, was held yesterday on Mr. E. Hikaka’s grounds at Oeo. The gathering was held up by unfavourable weather, and at the advertised time of starting the necessity of postponement was seriously debated. At 1 p.m., however, conditions brightened sufficiently to justify proceeding. Intermittent showers led throughout the afternoon and considerably affected the attendance, though the spectators present were regaled with a good afternoon’s sport. Officials who controlled the gathering were: Chairman and supervisor, Mr. C. Jones; judges, Messrs. _F. Simpson, B. Harrop, W. Minhinniek; starter, Mr. J. Wills, Etu, L. Evans, W. Pranks; treasurer, Mr. E. J. Henry; hon. secretary, Mr. F. Cummins; refre.shment booth, Mesdames, C. Jones, M. Sav well, F.' Simpson (supervisors), Misses Jenkins, J. and A. Minhinniek, Hikaka. Konganui, M. Edward® (assistant's) ; fiuut and confectionery stall, Mesdames C. Jones and J. Cameron ; hoop-la, table, Mesdames Henwood, Gorkill and O’Carroll.
