KAKARAMEA SPORTS.

TO BE HELD' TO-MORROW. FULL PROGRAMME! AS BEFORE! Owing to the exceptionally bad weather yesterday the committee of the Kakaramea Sports and Agricultural Association decided on a postponement and finding that next Wednesday clashed with a Whenuakura gathering, it decided on to-morrow (Friday). The meeting l is very popular and is certain to draw a large crowd. The programme is bright, interesting and comprehensive. Of special interest will be the addition of the trotting events for which permission has been granted by the Minister of Internal Affairs. These will include pony trotting, milk carters’ trotting, and an open event and ill are certain to create much interest ind to attract a large crowd of spectators.

There will be also classes for utility farm horses, best reared calf (school pupils and open class), children's ‘jonies and hacks.

Horse and pony' leaping is always a 'eature at Kakaramea and the big •vent will he the contest in the open (japing, for which a 20 guinea cup and i, prize of £ls are awarded. Athletic events will include boys’ and (iris’ races, various distances, while a number of novelty events will complete l varied, prograjrun-e-. There will be a brass band on the (round and luncheon and afternoon tea will be available all day. Complete arrangements have again been made for to-morrow. The caterer, 'ill he Mr. Yinsen, of the Stratford Marble Bar. A special feature of the (athering this year is the three trotlng races, viz., for ponies, milk carters aid an open trot. A dance was .held last night in the Kakaramea hall, which was crowded, excellent music being provided by Mr. Boulton’s orchestra, whilst Mr. G. Lord made an efficient. M.C. Another dance will be held to-morrow evening to wind up the sports.
