THE NEW FORD BULLETIN (Clipping from the Los Angeles ‘ ‘Times ”) The New Ford smashes all records between Los Angeles and Phoenix. Averages 58,26 miles per hour to Phoenix, Arizona, lowering running time by 1 hour and 59 minutes for the round trip. Speeding along desert roads at more than a mile a minute, a new Ford Tudor Sedan, absolutely stock and completely equipped, broke three Los Angefcs-Phoenix roa<] records. On the trip to Phoenix, by way of Yuma, the drivers took the car over 14'5 miles of dirt and gravel roads that were rough and rutted, but maintained an average speed of 58.2'6 miles per hour, demonstrating the ability of the Ford motor to sustain high speed hour after hour under gruelling conditions. The time wa s s hours, 14 minutes and 50 seconds, lowering the record by 19 min. utes 10 seconds. The return trip to Los Angeles, by way of Blythe, took the ear over 265 miles of dirt and gravel roads, even rougher than those encountered on the trip* to Phoenix. The former record was lowered by 1 hour, 39 minutes and 50 seconds, the’ running time being 8 hours, 00 minutes and 10 seconds. Three Los Angeles Ford dealers took turns at driving. The ' test was officially timed hy Western Union.*
