The work of organising for members of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union is progressing very well in South Taranaki and the organiser (Mr B. Gillies) reports that up-to-date his total of new members is close on to three hundred and. there are several large districts still to cover. There are also a large number of fanners’ wives being enrolled for the women’s division, as reported. from various centres. Seven building permittia to a total value of £2237 were issued by the Har wera. . Borough Council during March, stated the report of the inspector, Mr L. Hunt, to Tuesday’s meeting of the Borough Council. For thei 12 months ended March 31, the total value of building permits was £35,774, an increase of £10,648 on the previous year. A total of 779 drivers’ licenses were issued, and 40 dangerous goods depots were licensed. Prosecutions resulted in fines totalling £52 6s. BOILS AND PIMPLES.
