News from Chicago states: —-Probably as a result of the recent election, in which the States Attorney, Mr Crowe, was defeated by Mr Newmark, the former chief investigator for Crowe was murdered by unknown assassins, who tired a charge from a sawed-off shotgun through his bedroom window m ho was preparing to retire.
