AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB,
On Thursday evening a meeting was hold at the " Wlaverley Town Board room to endeavour to form ian amateur athletic and cycling club. The response w-ns most encouraging and a large attendance resulted. Mr G. IT. Graham wa-s voted as chairman. Tn opening the meeting, Air Graham said it wins very gratifying to see such a. .represo-iutiative attendance, and it was hoped that this would lie the commencement of the revival of the sport, in Waver ley. After placing before those present the object, of the meeting, iit whs unanimously decided that am amateur athletic and cycling club be formed.
The following officers wore then elected: Secretary, Air J. C. Ilialliday; treasurer, Mr W. H. James; committee, A 1 ess-i-s EriccSon, S. Alhrrio'tt, A. Mitchell, E. Alulehoy, E. C. Dnfllison, C. Fiitzgibbon and A. Afaule. It was decided that the membership fi« sh-ould lie 5s and that lady members and schoolgirls bo .admitted.
It was recommended to the committee that a meeting be held on Saturday afternoon, Af'arch 31, at 3 o’lclock on the Wlaverley domain.
It wa-s also decided to affiliate with the West C'ohsit centre.
The next meeting will be called for Monday a't 7.30 p.m.
