Dear Smile Queen, —It is such a king time since I wrote and I have a few minutes now so I thought I would write. Our school holidays have now ended and we are back at- school, but we will soon be having a few days for Easter. Our last holidays I stayed at home, but- I had a very good time. The holidays seem-to go very quickly, but if anybody wanted them to go quickly I am afraid they would seem to- go very slowly. We have had our school picnic. It was held at Kaupokonui beach. There some other schools there too-. It was very nice, only awfully Lot. Well, Smile Queen, I will'close. I am your loving Smile, Dena Stone.

[You do seem to get a lot of holidays, Dena ! I’m sure the picnic at Kaupokomii beach would be delightful. How did you get there? Don’t- bo so long in writing next time. Love from S.Q.j

Mokoia

Dear Smile Queen,—l have not forgotten you, although you may be : beginning to think I had done so. 1 guess you will get a big collection of letters now yon are starting a competition. All the Mokoia Guides went to Greenmeadows beach during the holidays. We joined several other companies there and we spent a most-en-joyable week. We went down to the beach every day for a swim, while we were there I learnt to swim. Two evenings while we were there we had concerts which were very nice. Yesterday afternoon after I came home from Guide parade I helped mother in the garden. We have got some anemones and some ranunculi bulbs and planted them. We planted them in the vegetable garden because we wanted them on a bed on the lawn and the asters have not finished flowering yet. Some wet day mother will move them on .to the lawn. Tt is very dry again and we are hoping it will rain soon. ]will con-clude-now with love from Peggy Barkla.

[How jolly to go to Green meadows with the Guides, Peggy! It must have been quite a big camp. What a charming bed you will have on the lawn. Ranunculi are so graceful and elegant. T shall look forward to your next letter. Love from S.Q.J -
