CONTESTS IN APRIL. attractive list prepared. The Kaponga Athletic Club’s programme committee met on Wednesday evening and drew up the programme of events to be contested at the club’s sports gathering at Victoria Park on April 19. There were present: Messrs. W. Marr, president (in the chair), D. P. F. Malone, J. Brisco, J. Guy, and M. Gomerford. An apology for absence was received from Mr. Harley Henderson. Among a number of innovations introduced in the programme are a maiden cycle race of one- and a halt miles, girls’ cycle race of half a. mile, pillow fight, one mile walk, pulling the lazy stick, putting 161 b shot, and 100 yards Hat race for members. The complete programme is advertised. Gold medals for competition at the forthcoming sports meeting have been presented by the following .supporters of the club: Messrs. L. E. Abbott, D. Fitzgerald, S. Lissaman, P. F. Hammonds, D. Fitzgerald, G. S. W. .8011. ,J. Hessell, T. B. Menson, J'. Ryan, R. F. Coleman, J. J. Davison, R. Grace, H. Henderson, J. S. Charters. A handsome silver cup has also been donated by Mr. D. P. F. Malone for most points in the half-mile, mile, two miles, and three miles cycle events. Other trophies are contributed 1 bv Messrs. J. Adam, G. Chine. T. McMillan, P. Harding, W. G. Crnn. R. S. Knight. M. Comerford, A. F. Anderson.
