Documents tabled in the House of 'Commons disclosed that Canada broke off official trade relations with the Soviet, in May, 1927,. because Russia did not fulfil her promise to refrain from hostile action against institutions of the British Empire: 'The correspondence shows that the Rt. Hon L. O. -M. S. Amery suggested that ’ uniformity of action by the various members of the British Commonwealth would present a great advantage. According to an answer given to a question ill the House of Commons, between April, 192 1, and January, 1928, approximately thirty-four million pounds (.weight) of Australian butter entered Canada. During 1927 five million pounds of New Zealand butter and 895,00 p pounds of Australian mutton were imported.
