CROQUET ♦— SOUTH TARANAKI TOURNEY. EXCELLENT PROGRESS MADE. The management and organisation of the croquet tourney of the South 'l’aranaiti Association, which has been proceeding for the past live days, has been so etiective that the tourney is in several sections approaching the semifinals, while the handicap events have already been decided. Play has been good and interesting, and all competitors have had a thoroughly good time. Visitors from the centres are loud in their praise of the whole conduct of the tourney Fortunately, weather and fawn conditions have been specially good. On Saturday two finals were decided, handicap doubles and B grade doubles. The championship events are progressing well and nearing the semifinals, wliiie the handicap singles have readied tlie semi-finals. Further results were: SOUTH TARANAKI CHAMPION SINGLES.
