MOTORISTS’ AFFAIRS.
MEETING OF SOUTH TARANAKI 1 ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the South Taranaki Automobile Association was held last evening when the following members of the executive were present: Messrs C. Tonics (chairman), L. 0. Hooker, E. P. Cox, W. A. Spragg, W. O’Callaghan, G. J. Bayley, and Or. McGhie. Correspondence was received from the Wanganui Automobile Association, dealing with the proposed new scheme for a motor service organisation. A circular letter was also received ni regard to the work of the organisation re sign-posting, road reports, guide books, and road service genci<ll! v r . The secretary (Mr. AValkley) reported that 18 new signs had been placed in position on the East 'Road, StrutIt was decided to proceed with the work of chaining and sign-posting live miles of road in the Eltliam county. (Jn the motion of the chairman, it was unanimously decided to erect a tent at (Jpunake racecourse on March 17 and to engage the services of a skilled mechanic to he in attendance during the day as a temporary service station. The secretary was instructed to communicate with'the Now Plymouth Association requesting it to make endeavours to place a sign-post- at the AVaiwakaibo bridge near E'gmont A illage. , Two ladies were elected as members of the association.
