PRISONERS RELEASED.
FOUR. HUNDRED MAU POLICEMEN BUTTER. FEELING IN SAMOA. (Special to Press Association—By Radio.) AINA, March 7. Four hundred Man po.icemen who have been undergoing isix months’ imprisonment, had their sentences suspended to-day, and have been instructed to return to their homes and to co-operate with the loyal natives in their districts in holding meetings to decide upon any mattens requiring alteration. The Administrator, Sir George Richardson, said that, recognising they had been misled by men who were not natives, he was disinclined to continue their imprisonment, hut they must understand that they must not defy the law any further. Several Mau natives paid their overdue taxes on the conclusion of the meeting. As announced yesterday, a better feeling is existing in Samoa, and a big meeting is being held at Apia next week in an endeavour to terminate the Mau.
