DEATH FOLLOWS INJURIES. fBY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH:, March 8. Richard Joughin, a married man, died in the' hospital to-day as suit- of head injuries received by a rail from a cycle. Joughin was a ,signwriter bv occupation. FATALITY ON ROWLING GREEN. AUCKLAND, March 8. The annual veterans’ bowling tournament on the Auckland Olnb’s green today had a tragic termination alter barely one hour’s play, when Air. John Haslett, aged 77, a member of the Carlton Club had a sudden heart seizure and fell ’while playing in one of the rinks. Death ensued later. A BUSH WORKER, HURT. TaUAIARUNUI, Alarch 8. James William Thornton, a single man aged 47, a. bushman, had his. right arm and several ribs fractured owing to a winch rope breaking and striking him. He was removed to the hospital, where he is progressing favourably.
