At this time of the year (says the “Christchurch Sun”) the spacious and well-ventilated bedroom that is Hagley Park, star-ceilinged, environed by trees and carpeted by long grass, is popular with people down in their luck and spirits. Early in the- morning, men and sometimes a woman or two, may he seen leaving the park. These park dossers make their toilet on the hanks of the Avon River before the leave for the city and breakfast—perhaps.
