FIRE AT PETANE.
SEVERAL BULL DINGS DESTROYED (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NA'PIER, Jan. 5. An outbreak of tire in a hotel at 1.30 o’clock this morning destroyed a hotel building of twenty-four rooms, owned by Herbert INeagle, of Hawke’s Bay, a motor company’s stables, a vacant shop and a forge at Petane. A bucket brigade saved shops and a benzine store across the road from the blaze. The insurances on the hotel buikling.a.re £4OOO in the New Zealand office and on the contents £I3OO in the Norwich Union. The fittings are insured for £250 in the New Zealand office and the stable buildings are insured far £4OO in the Atlas office.
