The Paris, correspondent of “The Times” say.s that 1927 was a decisive ear regarding naval revival. Twenty-av-e shins-, including submarines, were commissioned; 24 were 'aid down, while credits were voted tor 19 of these and lliiyse air tsqundrons. The cost of the new oonstructin amounted to. £10,728,,KX) in 1928, against £2,880,000 in >924. The first two complete .series of jest-war vessels would be ready for service in 1932, including nine cruisers. 21 flotilla leaders. 36 destroyers, 48 submarines and numerous auxiliaries. The sum of £2,000,000 will be spent annua-llv to provide for oil .storage at Lest and Toulon. The existing' 18 air squadrons will have been increased to >() bv 1938.—“ Times.”
