MISSING ’PLANE DAWN.
FISHERMEN HEAR. A SPLASH. UNABLE TO RENDER ASSISTANCE BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. NEW YORK, Jan. 2. The c-aptain and six members of the crew of the British fishing schooner Roseanne Belleveau, arrived at Portland, Maine, and reported that, they heard the whirl of an aeroplane motor, followed by a splash in the water off Nan,sett beaeli, Massachusetts, at 8 o'clock on the night of December 23. This is believed to have been the missing Grayson aeroplane, the Dawn. The schooner was unable to render assistance, because of the heavy seas running, and, having no radio aboard, the crew could not inform the two steamers a few miles ahead.
