AUCKLAND TRAINING NOTES. While galloping on No. 1 track this morning, Master Doon’s gear slipped and he lost his rider. The saddle went underneath, ancl the horse commenced to buck and then bolted several rounds on the sand. Spectators endeavoured to . stop him, and Master Doon collided with the rails, suffering an injury that will prevent him racing again for a. long time. Agrion was sent over a- round on the tan at Eltcrslio -this morning. He was picked up at the six furlong post by Golden Armour and ran the distance in 1.48 4-5, finishing well in front of his companion. This is the best ever done over a round on this track. Marion’s Birthday was in front of The Begum at the end of four furlongs in 48 3-ssec., the best gallop of the morning over the distance.

TROTTING AUCKLAND, Dec. 31. There was a line day and a large crowd fo the final day of the Auckland Trotting Clutf’s meeting. The track was in good order. Results: — TAMATO HANDICAP. Of 100 so vs. 1-1 miles. 4 Raima 1 2 Dolores * 2 1 Nelson .Boy 3 Scratched: Sean Truibhas. Won by a head, three lengths between second and third. Time, 3.35. On a protest the positions in the first race were reversed, Raima being made first and Dolores second. The driver of Dolores (J. Bryce) was fined' £5 as the stewards considered that he- deliberately made Dolores break. PRESIDENT’S HANDICAP.
