WEDDINGS.

BQNJEI—-SPENCE. St. Joilin’iS CTiureii, lLawera, was prettily decorated on Wednesday last ior the marriage of Lynda Margery, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs \V. Spence, to- Frederick Cecil second son of Air taud Airs L. A. Bone, of LLawera. The service was conducted by the li,ev. It. E. Evans, and in honour of the bride who was organist at the church, and the bridegroom, who was a member of the choir, the wedding choruses were sung by the choir. Miss Barker, a friend of the bride, played the organ accompaniments.

The bride, who entered the church with her brother, Air A. L. Spence (Auckland), was attired in a beautiful frock of ivory georgette with the usual veil aiicl orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of rhododendrons with maidenhair and asparagus ferns She was attended by Airs Sidney C'ashmore ,of Auckland, as matron of honour, who wore a gown of pale pink s-ilk organdie with hat to match. Aims Beth Thomson, neicei of the bride, was bridesmaid and was dressed in -rose beads georgette with hat to. match, while her sister, Aii&s Constance Thomson, was flower girl, wearing mauve georgette. Ail of the bride s attendant’s carried /bouquets of pale pinkroses. Air D. L. Bone, of Auckland, was best man, and Air S. C, Spence, of Whak atone, groomsman. The reception was held at Corsoncon, Victoria Street, tiie residence of the bride's family, where the guests were received by Aliss E. G. Spence, who wore navy blue bengaliine and carried a bouquet of mauve dowers. All's L. A. Bone was gowned in a black silk lrock and coat witli black toque brimmed in mauve and carried -a bouquet of mauve dowers. The wedding breakfast was served in a marquee, which had been prettily decorated an pink and mauve. The happy couple left later in the afternoon by motor oar for the honeymoon trip, the bride’s travelling costume being a navy blue suit with scarlet trimmings and scarlet hat to match.

LEWES—PEASE. A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Alary’s Church, Haw era, on Wednesday, December 28, when Noel, son of the late Air and Airs Llanfair Lewes, of Blundellsands, England, was married to Bae, second daughter of Airs B. L. and the late Air J. E. Pease, of H-awera. The Bev. L. A. Barnes officiated and tiie service was choral, the hymns being “Lead Us, Heavenly Bather, Lead Us,” and “Love Divine, All Love Excelling.” The bride, who entered the church attended by her brother, Air J. J. Pease, was daintly attired in a frock of white georgette over silver brocade, with a silver girdle and a beautiful lace veil. Her only ornament was a pearl necklace, the present of the bridegroom. She carried a bouquet of white lilies and shell pink sweet peas. Aliss Lilian Pease, sister of the bride, who acted as bridesmaid, wore a turquoise lace frock over georgette with velvet band belt to match. A turquoise hat and silver shoes completed a dainty toilet. She carried a bouquet of dwarf hydrangeas. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a silver-mounted crystal powder bowl. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Erie Lewes.

Poliowing the ceremony, the reception was held at Rossall House. Mrs Pease, who was gowned in navy blue crepe de chine with hat to match, and who carried a pretty bouquet of pink roses, received the guests on the terrace. Numerous wedding presents displayed - in the dining room were the centre of much interest prior to the serving of the wedding breakfast in a marquee erected on one of the lawns. Here the tables, tastefully decorated with mauve and pink sweet peas, presented a charming scene, a large threetier shell pink wedding cake ornamented with silver being the chief decoration. The usual toasts were honoured at the breakfast, and later in the afternoon the happy couple left Hawera by motor car for a tour of the north. The bride's travelling costume was a sage green crepe de chine three-piece ensemble, with hat to match. Amongst the guests were Mr and Mrs L. W. Bishop (Hatuma), Mrs J. E.
